This means that there is a critical need for effective and efficient services geared towards Veterans, and that Veterans represent a strong voice for issues affecting all Veterans.
Do I have to have military experience to be an UMAVA member? No. We realize that family and friends are a critical support network of our Brothers and Sisters in Arms, and that these same family and friends need the support of other Veterans when their loved one is serving. You are welcome to join us, and to also participate in Leadership positions, as long as you believe in and support UMAVA's Mission to recognize and honor the sacrifices and contributions of the American Veteran, in general, and the Mexican-American Veteran in particular.
